Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
%u2022 Must pass criminal background check
%u2022 Must be CPR Certified
%u2022 Must complete an accredited course in nursing assistant training
%u2022 Must have the ability to apply clinical knowledge to validate and communicate instrument readings and provide routine hands on care to geriatric residents
%u2022 High School graduate or equivalent
Essential Functions
%u2022 Assists residents to ensure their cleanliness, grooming, nourishment, rest, activity, mobility, transfer, and elimination is performed in a manner conducive to the residents%u2019 safety and comfort in accordance to the residents%u2019 plan of care
%u2022 Recognizes and respects the individual emotional, social, and cultural needs of residents including their religious beliefs
%u2022 Keeps alert to the residents%u2019 condition and reports changes in the residents%u2019 attitudes, appearance, behavior, and physical ability to the charge nurse immediately
%u2022 Performs selected nursing procedures that do not require professional evaluation as assigned and instructed by the charge nurse
%u2022 Practices conservation of equipment and supplies, keeping them clean and ready for use
%u2022 Reports any equipment and supply needs to the charge nurse
%u2022 Ensures that call lights are within residents%u2019 reach and promptly answers call signals
%u2022 Anticipates residents%u2019 needs and makes rounds routinely to assigned residents
%u2022 Assists residents in their recreational activities and as needed, transports residents throughout the facility
%u2022 Assists in escorting residents to and from appointments as requested by the Director of Nursing
%u2022 Keep written notes of specific assignments and records pertinent information about the residents
%u2022 Enters all appropriate resident data in the medical record, timely, and accurately
%u2022 Accountable for maintaining good communication and interpersonal relations with the residents, visitors, and facility employees
%u2022 Accountable for maintaining a good record of attendance and punctuality
%u2022 Accountable for following all facility and department safety policies, including gait belt usage
%u2022 Conveys information in a concise, accurate, and manner
%u2022 Attends in-service to maintain Certified Nursing Assistant certification
%u2022 Ensures that residents%u2019 rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy property and civil rights, including the right to wage a complaint, are well established and maintained at all times
%u2022 Maintains confidentiality of appropriate resident care information to assure their rights are protected
%u2022 Report all incidents/ accidents, unsafe and hazardous conditions/ equipment immediately
%u2022 Maintains a work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
