Description

Under supervision, the Certified Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing assistance and aids residents with daily living activities.

In addition to the essential functions outlined herein, this position is considered to be a direct resident care role and therefore the incumbent shall meet and fulfill all applicable requirements as outlined in California Code of Regulation Title 22: Social Security, Division 5: Health Facilities, as well as the Health and Safety Code for the State of California.

Essential Functions:

- Supports the philosophy, mission, commitment, vision, and values of LifeHOUSE.

- Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs.

- Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care.

- Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding.

- Assists residents with range of motion exercises, and movement to wheelchair or activity areas.

- Assists resident with turning and positioning in bed.

- Assists resident with ambulation for short distances in community.

- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.

- Performs other tasks as assigned.

- Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in LifeHOUSE's Code of Conduct, LifeHOUSE policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

- Documents information on flow sheets, as directed.

- Attends interdisciplinary meetings, as needed, to provide input into selected resident's plans of care.

- Documents restorative services provided following community policies and procedures.

- Reports to supervisor or designee on progress/lack of progress in achieving restorative goals.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.

- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members as well as community staff.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Ability to organize and prioritize.
