Description

Individuals of good character and good health who can read and write English and capable of comprehension in developing skills and a genuine interest for the care of the short and long term resident.

Staff employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant will work under the supervision of an RN and/or LVN.

He/She will care for the needs of the resident at a professional level and caring manner.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Dressing or assisting residents to dress. Assisting with braces and prosthetics as necessary, including ambulation and range of motion.

Assisting residents into wheelchairs or geriatric chairs unless their condition prevents their being up as directed by a licensed person

Giving bed bath, shower or tub bath depending on the resident%u2019s condition or limitations as directed by a licensed person.

Giving mouth care and cleaning dentures.

Giving shampoos, combing, and arranging the hair.

Shaving residents or assisting those who is in need of help.

Assisting resident to the bathroom or placing them on bedpans or providing urinals; then cleaning and placing it into a plastic bag and returning it to resident%u2019s drawer.

Changing bed linens and making beds.

Other duties as designated by supervisor.
