Description

Basic Tasks:

Prepare Dishwasher for morning - Log Wash /Rinse Temp. On log.

Clean / Sanitize Resident water pitchers and hydration stations.

Make nourishments for each Hall, following the list provided.

Prepare trays for Breakfast (napkins on all trays).

Prepare Coffee & special request for Breakfast tray line.

Prepare line for breakfast service (take out everything needed for tray line).

Call out the diet cards to the cook on tray line.

Place beverages, condiments / special requests on trays following Dietary orders / preferences

Wash dirty dishes from Breakfast preparation (pots /pans, etc.)

Prepare desserts for next day following recipe book.

Each Aide has designated dessert schedule - follow list.

Check cleaning schedule and perform assigned duties / initial when complete.

Prepare tray line for Lunch (take out desserts).

Check tray cards for accuracy before putting them into delivery carts.

Clean / Sanitize Resident delivery carts and resident tray cards.

Set up tray cards for Dinner service - Check for missing cards and notify Supervisor if missing.

Set up delivery carts for dinner service - cups, mugs, pitchers on top.

Clean as you go- Make a mess, you clean it up

Always follow food safety/sanitation rules and regulations

Qualifications:

A. A High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

B. Kitchen cook experience in a long term care facility or as a cook in a institutional setting preferred.

C. Ability to read, speak and understand basic English, follow directions and complete tasks as assigned.

D. Maintain neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

E. Dependability.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government

agencies/personnel and the general public.

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.

Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
