Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Department: Rehabilitation Services

Reports To: Director of Rehab (DOR)

Supervision Responsibility: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant and Speech Aide, when applicable.

Primary Duties:

The staff speech/language pathologist is a licensed professional who evaluates plans, directs, and administers medically prescribed speech/language pathology programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease, or injury, assists patients to reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Staff Speech Language Pathologist delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (speech language pathologist assistant/aide). The staff speech/language pathologist performs administrative duties and participates in department Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Safety and Education programs.

Qualifications:

1. Master%u2019s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.

2. Current CA license as a Speech Language Pathologist.

3. Current BLS or CPR certification.

4. At least one (1) year of experience as a practicing therapist preferred.
