Description

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services designed to maintain the resident%u2019s physical and emotional well being.

JOB DUTIES/

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist the resident with personal cares.

2. Performs incidental household services essential to supporting the resident%u2019s care plan.

3. Assist with dressing, grooming, and oral cares as assigned.

4. Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.

5. Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per individualized plan of care.

6. Observe resident and report any changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, reaction, appetite, etc., to the supervisor.

7. Medication administration/assistance and medication reminders as delegated by RN.

8. Prepares meals as directed following special meals plan if instructed. Assist in serving the meals in the dining room.

9. Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration as instructed. Report changes or concerns to the RN.

10. Maintains confidentiality of resident information.

11. Document services performed on client service sheets and on medication administration sheets.

12. Maintains household routines as directed by supervisor, which could include laundry, cleaning of apartment, and defrosting refrigerator etc.

13. Escorts residents to and from dining room for meals.

14. Monitor and responds to emergency calls promptly and in a courteous manner.

15. Assists dietary staff with serving coffee and providing assistance in the dining room.

16. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in varying situations.

17. Demonstrates compassion, tract and an awareness of ethics

18. Demonstrates team work by cooperative work with others and supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, bend and walk. The employee is occasionally required to, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear and taste and smell.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Push up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
