Brookside Inn, a privately owned skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Castle Rock, is seeking a compassionate and conscientious full-time Staff Development Coordinator to join our team of qualified individuals. We are looking for a professional who is committed to the highest standards of integrity, quality care, and respect for our residents.

Rate of Pay

$50,000-$70,000 annually depending on experience

Qualifications

%u2022 3 plus years of skilled nursing facility experience.

%u2022 Current, active, unencumbered Colorado Registered Nurse License (preferred)

%u2022 Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs.

%u2022 Extensive knowledge of current standards of practice and the rules, regulations, and laws related to the long-term care industry. Ability to teach this knowledge to others.

%u2022 Experience with engaging and interacting with people; experience in sales beneficial.

%u2022 Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various data reports.

%u2022 Experience with social media and on-line software platforms.

%u2022 Superior verbal and written communication skills.

%u2022 Must be organized and experienced with time-management and prioritizing workload.

%u2022 Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

%u2022 Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.

%u2022 Strong presentation skills and ability to speak publically.

%u2022 Excellent leadership skills.

%u2022 Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

%u2022 Ability to learn and apply company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

%u2022 Working collaboratively with administrators, lead the company efforts to retain current staff and recruit and on-board new staff.

%u2022 Participates in the completion of the facility assessment at least annually for determining the knowledge and skills required among staff to meet residents%u2019 needs.

%u2022 Works closely with senior management in developing a training plan that addresses all regulatory requirements and any other topics identified in the facility assessments and/or needs assessment. Develop educational calendars in accordance with the plan.

%u2022 Work with department managers to identify their staffing needs. Develop relations with community referral sources for employees.

%u2022 Develop, initiate and maintain effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning.

%u2022 Plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates and oversees orientation programs for all personnel.

%u2022 Recruit full-time, part-time, and PRN/on call positions.

%u2022 Work closely with the HR Compliance manager.

%u2022 Develops, schedules, and directs refresher training, as necessary for all personnel. Tracks attendance/completion of training to ensure that all personnel receive training in a timely manner. This may include safety training, accident training, person centered care, resident rights, confidentiality, anti-harassment training, general orientation, department specific training, etc

%u2022 Collaborates with department managers for developing competencies required for meeting residents%u2019 needs. Assists with evaluating competencies, depending on the knowledge-based, technical, or behavioral nature of the competency.

%u2022 Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

%u2022 Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

%u2022 Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.

%u2022 Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.

%u2022 Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.

%u2022 Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.

%u2022 Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.

%u2022 Administer COBRA.

%u2022 Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.

%u2022 Be a member of the safety committee, reviewing work comp claims and addressing safety concerns.

%u2022 Assist HR Compliance manager in obtaining statistics and information.

%u2022 Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.

%u2022 Prepare and maintain employee reports, new-hire and absentee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory and other requested reports as needed.

%u2022 Assist HR Compliance manager in completing benefits reporting requirements.

%u2022 Other duties as assigned.
